Color

"Is this the girl you are going to marry?"
"Yes dad. Isn't she pretty?"

"She is dark. I can't even see her face clearly."
"It's a dark photograph dad. Trust me, her face
is visible enough."

.
"Where is she from?"
"Panjim. Goa."

"Definitely not Sikh. Hindu?"
"Atheist, but yes, her parents are Hindu."

"Hmmm... Can't she use fairness creams? You
are milky white. You both together will look like a
black and white film."
"We will look good together, like a chess-board.
Don't worry dad."

"Will you feel comfortable taking her as your
bride back to our hometown? Beautiful Sardarnis
back home in Jalandhar, and here you are stuck
with this black girl."
"Chill dad. You want some ice-cream?"

"I shouldn't. Diabetes. But I guess one scoop
won't do much harm."
"Vanilla or chocolate? Okay sorry for my
stupidity. Vanilla of course?"

"What? No, I want chocolate."
"But vanilla is what you must have dad. It's
white."

"What difference does the color make?"
"Exactly dad."

A Father's day

A son took his old father to a restaurant for an evening dinner.

Father being very old and weak, while eating, dropped food on his shirt and trousers. Other diners watched him in disgust while his son was calm.

After he finished eating, his son who was not at all embarrassed, quietly took him to the restroom, washed off all the food particles, removed the stains, combed his hair and fitted his spectacles firmly.

When they came out, the entire restaurant was watching them in dead silence, not able to grasp how could someone could embarrass themselves publicly like that.

The son settled the bill and started walking out with his father.

At that point, an old man amongst the diner called out to the son and asked him,

"Don't you think you've left something behind?"

The son replied,

"No sir, I haven't."

The old man retorted,

"Yes, you have. You left a lesson for every son and hope for every father."

The whole restaurant went silent.

To care for those who once cared for us is one of the highest honors.

Burying the Bentley

Thane Chiquinho Scarpa, a wealthy Brazilian businessman stirred a wave of negative reactions when he announced on his Facebook page that he plans to bury his beloved Bentley Continental Flying Spur.

Chiquinho Scarpa, 62, said he would bury his £310,000 (€367,220) Bentley so that he would be able to drive it in the afterlife.
He explained that he has taken inspiration from Egyptian Pharaohs, who were buried with their most precious belongings, and promised he would entomb the Bentley by the end of the week (Sept 2013).

He even posted photos of himself digging a hole for the car in the yard of his Sao Paulo mansion, triggering a wide range of reactions on the social network website. Obviously, most of the reactions were negative towards the eccentric Scarpa, labeling him as a crazy person who wants to do something absurd instead of donating the car for charity.
When it came time to bury his car, Thane Scarpa invited the media so they could be in attendance to watch the car’s funeral. As the car was going into the grave, he had the ceremony stopped.

That’s when he came back with this twist ending of a speech:

''People have condemned me for trying to bury a million dollar Bentley. The fact is, most people bury something a lot more valuable than my car. People bury hearts, livers, lungs, eyes, and kidneys. This is absurd. There are so many people out there waiting for a transplant and you will bury healthy organs that can save so many lives. This is the biggest waste in the world. My Bentley is worthless in comparison to life giving organs. There is no wealth more valuable than an organ, because there is nothing more valuable than life.
I officially announce I am an organ donor this week. I’m an organ donor, are you? Tell your family.''

Moments before lowering the car in the ground he revealed his genuine motive.

To create awareness for organ donation.
Well done Mr. Scarpa.

For all those wondering whether he had buried the Bentley or not?

No! He didn't bury his car. After all it would be idiotic to bury such a nice car. ;-)

When its calm..

There is a story about a sea Captain who in his retirement skippered a boat taking day-trippers to Islands.

On one trip, the boat was full of young people.

They laughed at the old captain when they saw him say a prayer before sailing out, because the day was fine and the sea was calm.

However they weren't long at sea when a storm suddenly blew up and the boat began to roll & pitch violently.

The terrified passengers came to the captain and asked him to join them in prayer.

But he replied, "I say my prayers when it's calm. When it's rough I attend to my ship."

Here is a lesson for us......

If we cannot seek God in quiet moments of our lives; we are not likely to find him when trouble strikes.

We are more likely to panic.

But if we have learnt to seek him and trust him in quiet moments, then most certainly we will find him when the going gets rough.
